Height
8 to 12 inches is the easy middle: tall enough to cool the smoke, short enough to keep in a closet. Under 8 inches travels well but hits harsher.
Joint size
Most bongs use a 14mm joint, and 14mm bowls are the cheapest to replace. 18mm bowls hold more.
Glass thickness
